Doyle was accepted to Midland University in Fremont, Neb. He wants to work in a children's hospital as a nurse practitioner. Doyle used to play basketball, baseball and football, but he hopes to get a bowling scholarship to Midland.
Ben Doyle didn't part the sea of orange clad Natrona County High School students and faculty flooding into the school gym Tuesday. The sea sought him out.
"When he comes into a room, everyone is automatically happier," said junior Stevann Brown, who has grown up with Doyle. "As soon as you meet Ben, you want to do everything you can for him, because he wants to do everything he can for you."
Doyle still faces an uphill battle. He has 54 weeks of what he calls hardcore treatment ahead. For all the kindness and generosity of spirit he possesses, though, Doyle doesn't back down.
He endured two surgeries and radiation, but the tumor returned the next year. That led to another round of treatment.
When Doyle arrived at school Tuesday and saw students decked out in orange shirts with his name on them, he understood his mom's actions.

Doyle, a senior, had been excited to get back to school, to normalcy, a day earlier. Last week, he underwent yet another surgery. His brain cancer is back for a third time.
"He's not fighting alone. We are going to do what we can to keep him strong," said Brian Sanders, one of Doyle's teachers.
"Mr. Sanders called me yesterday and asked me to keep Ben at home one more day, so I knew something was up," Doyle's mom, Debbie said. "It was hard to convince him, he was so excited to get back to school."
Waves of students jostled for photos and hugs, lots of hugs.
"The second time was just a six week course. Just a low dose, which was nice," Doyle said.

Doyle works with the school's special education program, helping students with their studies and social skills. Doyle performs a lot of volunteer work in the community, as part of a leadership class Sanders teaches. Even when he was first diagnosed, his priority was someone else: a classmate with a form of bone cancer. Doyle helped organize Air Max Black And White Mens

He bowled his first 300, a perfect game, just months after being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2011. It was his sophomore year.
Sanders hopes the money raised will go toward Doyle's college education.
He used online video chat services to stay in touch with a teacher at the school so he wouldn't fall too far behind. He has a 3.8 GPA to worry about, after all, and a busy schedule. Doyle is the manager for the football and basketball teams, a member of the Nike Air Max 95 Dark Green

Patterson, his English teacher. "If you watch him walk down the hall, he smiles, he says hi to everyone, he's the spirit of NC."
Sanders said he had his doubts once he saw the stacks of orange cotton tees towering in the West Cafeteria on Monday, but the school community, including students and faculty at rival Kelly Walsh High School, came through. All 1,100 shirts sold out by Tuesday. Sanders ordered more.
Sanders and other Natrona County High School staff put together the T shirt design and ordered 1,100 shirts. They almost pulled the project together in time.
He just wanted to see his friends; his mom made him stay home despite his protests.
That spirit was on display at the school gym Tuesday as 1,100 students and faculty jockeyed into the shape of three letters B, E, N and an exclamation point to show their support.
"If there's ever been a fighter on the planet, Ben's the fighter," Sanders said in an interview last week. "I'm not too worried about him whipping this deal."
